Christ Our Hope In Life and Death
Heidelberg Catechism Q:1
Q. What is your only comfort in life and in death?
A. That I am not my own,1 but belong—body and soul, in life and in death2—to my faithful Savior, Jesus Christ.3 He has fully paid for all my sins with His precious blood,4 and has set me free from the tyranny of the devil.5 He also watches over me in such a way6 that not a hair can fall from my head without the will of my Father in heaven;7 in fact, all things must work together for my salvation.8 Because I belong to Him, Christ, by His Holy Spirit, assures me of eternal life9 and makes me wholeheartedly willing and ready from now on to live for Him.10

Scriptural Call to Worship: I Peter 1:17-19
Pastor: If you address as Father the One Who impartially judges according to each one’s work, conduct yourselves in fear during the time of your stay on earth;
Congregation: Lord, help us to fear and love You rightly so we please you in how we live according to Your word.
Pastor: Knowing that you were not redeemed with perishable things like silver or gold from your futile way of life inherited from your forefathers, but with precious blood, as of a lamb unblemished and spotless, the blood of Christ.
Congregation: Thank you God for our redemption through the shed blood of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Help us to worship You in word, thought, and deed in-light of our treasured salvation found only in Christ.
Come Ye Sinners Poor and Needy
But for the Cross of Christ
Scripture: Hebrews 10:19-22 & Ephesians 1:7
Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the holy places by the blood of Jesus, by the new and living way that He opened for us through the curtain, that is, through His flesh, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.
Hebrews 10:19-22
In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace.
Ephesians 1:7
