"Jesus: The Priest King"

SPC Order of Worship

Christ Our Hope In Life and Death

Scriptural Call to Worship: Psalm 130

Pastor: 1 Out of the depths I cry to you, Lord; 2 Lord, hear my voice. Let Your ears be attentive to my cry for mercy. 3 If You, Lord, kept a record of sins, Lord, who could stand?
Congregation: 4 But with You there is forgiveness, so that we can, with reverence, serve You.
Pastor: 5 I wait for the Lord, my whole being waits, and in His word I put my hope. 6 I wait for the Lord more than watchmen wait for the morning, more than watchmen wait for the morning.
Congregation: 7 Israel, put your hope in the Lord, for with the Lord is unfailing love and with Him is full redemption. 8 He Himself will redeem Israel from all their sins.

Welcome & Announcements: Pastor Brian Peterson

Baptism: Jackson Duncan, Son of Melissa & Ford Duncan

Christus Victor (Amen)

Confession: Apostles’ Creed

I believe in God the Father Almighty,
Maker of heaven and earth.

I believe in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord,
Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
and born of the virgin Mary.
He suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried;
He descended into hell.
The third day He rose again from the dead.
He ascended into heaven
and is seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty.
From there He will come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting. Amen

New City Catechism Q: 30

Q. What is faith in Jesus Christ?
A. Faith in Jesus Christ is acknowledging the truth of everything that God has revealed in His Word, trusting in Him, and also receiving and resting on Him alone for salvation as He is offered to us in the gospel. Galatians 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ Who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, Who loved me and gave Himself for me.
