Brian was born and raised in southern California in a Roman Catholic home. He came to Christ at age 19 as a student at Chico State University in northern California. After college and prior to seminary, Brian worked for a commercial real estate firm and then Campus Crusade for Christ. He was introduced to the PCA through an inner-city ministry in New Orleans, where he lived before moving to Jackson, MS, for seminary. Brian earned his MDiv at Reformed Theological Seminary and is now pursuing his DMin in historical theology at RTS Charlotte. His particulararea of focus is Colonial Presbyterianism. Brian and his wife Anna, have been married 19 years.They are the parents of seven children, ranging in age from 18 to 7. Brian enjoys developing his interests in golf, hiking, woodworking and early American history.

Adam was born and raised in Ohio where he learned to love The Ohio State Buckeyes. After marrying Airicia, they moved to Louisiana where they learned to love southern cooking and the LSU Tigers! Adam and Airicia have been married for 18 years and have three children; Gabriel, Lilly Grace, and Emma Rose. The Holcombs love sports, music, movies, pizza, and playing with their dog Toby! Adam holds a BME from Wright State University and a Masters and Doctorate degree from LSU. His life verse is Psalm 73, “Whom have I in Heaven but You? And there is nothing on earth I desire besides You. My heart and flesh may fail, but You are the strength of my heart and my portion forever…Your nearness to me is my good.”

James grew up in Myrtle Beach, running the halls of Surfside Presbyterian. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in History and Master of Arts in Teaching from Coastal Carolina. He met his wife, Alisha at Surfside PCA and they have two boys. James loves traveling to new cities, going to Disney World, listening to podcasts, and watching football.

Zoe is originally from Ohio and graduated from Ohio University with a degree in elementary education. After working for Lutheran Churches in Ohio and North Carolina, she joined our staff in September 2020. Zoe and her husband Steve have two children, five grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Besides spending as much time as possible with her grandbabies, she loves spending time fly fishing, hiking, reading, and baking.

Leila is a native of the area. She joined SPCA in 2002 where they have raised their two children, Maria and Lucas. Leila graduated from USC with a degree in early childhood education. She stayed at home with her children for 9 years. She has since taught Kindergarten and worked in private schools. She now works at Sonrise our very own pre-school where she teaches 4K.

Krista was born in WI and moved to Myrtle Beach when she was six. She meet Jimbo Booth at Surfside Presbyterian Church and they were married in 1982. They have two sons, one daughter and three awesome grandkids. She has been working at Surfside Presbyterian Church since 1989. She enjoys watching baseball, going to the beach, working in her yard, but most of all hanging out with her family.

Chris has been living in Myrtle Beach since 1989. He married his wife Kim in 1997. Chris, Kim, and their son Tyler have been attending Surfside Presbyterian since 2006. He has been on the Diaconate twice and an usher for 10 years. Chris loves working in the yard and watching Clemson football. Chris loves serving the church and its congregation.

Valarie is a native to Surfside Beach, born and raised. She is married to Dana and they have 3 children, Gavin, Grayson, and Jack. Gavin went home to be with Lord in 2015. She is a huge NASCAR fan and enjoys playing board games. She has worked in childcare for over 20 years. The old adage pays true to her “love what you do and you’ll never work a day in your life”
