Local Missions

Local Ministries & Missionaries

We desire to implement our vision locally by supporting various outreach ministries in Myrtle Beach and North America.  Listed below are the local ministries and missionaries we support.

Saints Prison Ministrysaints-prison-monistry

Ministry Director: Jay Herman / Myrtle Beach, SC
The mission of the Saints Prison Ministry is to present the Gospel of Jesus Christ to prisoners through athletics and to provide them with opportunities for spiritual growth.  The federal, state and local institutions that seek to bring about rehabilitation to inmates have not been successful. Why? Because before a person can be truly rehabilitated, he or she must first be regenerated and experience a new life that can only come through faith in Jesus Christ.

Ministry Director: Jim Dove / Myrtle Beach, SC
The Huntington Beach State Park Ministry has been on-going for a number of years.  A number of members from the Surfside PCA Church gather together every Sunday morning beginning Easter Sunday weekend and continue through until the Labor Day weekend.  A church service is offered to all those camping during the summer months.  Elder emeritus Jim Dove has been the organizer for the ministry and the retired Rev. John Givens brings the morning message each week.  Each week one member of SPCA attends and gives a testimony of their faith in Christ.

john-and-christen-mackorellJohn and Christen MacKorell

Greek Intervarsity / College Ministry: Charleston, SC – John grew up in Murrells Inlet in our Church. While having a profession of faith he struggled with God’s plan for his life.  God then directed him and gave him a heart for college students. While attending Clemson, John learned it was pretty easy to live in a worldly manner versus a lifestyle that reflected God’s work in him. During this time John became familiar with Intervarsity Ministries. John worked as an Intern with Intervarsity at William and Mary College in Virginia and on staff with students at NC State. John is now director of ministries based in Charleston, SC.  Christen is actively involved in ministry and is pursuing her Physician Assistant degree. Contact: jmackor@gmail.com
