Message from Chris Taylor
What a week it has been so far! Or at least that’s what I would like to say. But not every week is epic-ally great or crazy difficult. This has been a week that has been surprisingly calm but no less full of Christ working and speaking. Life is beautiful and King Jesus is the wonder of it all. He is the color that we see, the beauty we look at, the grace we receive. Of course, it is easy to know that in our heads, but to really believe that in our hearts is quite a different story. As we prepare for worship this Sunday, I would ask you to join the me, Becky, our choir and our worship band – in setting aside everything that hinders. Leave it at the foot of the cross. Let’s focus our attention on Christ our Anointed King. Let’s invite the Holy Spirit to come worship with us; and then come to worship expecting a God who is truly with us and for us to show up and do things beyond our wildest expectations. I invite you to reflect on a sign of Christ’s faithfulness to you. In the hymn “Come Thou Fount” we read, “Here I raise my Ebenezer , hither by Thy yelp I come.” In scripture an Ebenezer is a stone of help (1 Samuel 7:12). An Ebenezer was a physical sign saying “Thus far has God helped us! He will continue to do so!” Surfside Church…. if Christ has not failed us yet, how much more can we lean on that promise today!?! He will never fail us! He is with us! He is for us! Come Thou Fount of Blessing! – Chris Taylor
